Senator Stedmann Hodge, Jr.

Stedmann Hodge, Jr. was born on the island of St. Thomas to the late Stedmann Hodge, Sr., and Joyce Olivia Petersen-Hodge. He is the proud father of two sons, Stedmann Jadmeh Hodge and Jamal Hodge. He is a graduate of the Ivanna Eudora Kean H.S. Stedmann holds an MPA in Government Management & Project Management Certificate from Devry’s Keller Graduate School of Management, he attended Florida Memorial University and earned two Bachelor of Arts Degrees in Marketing and Business Administration. An active member of the 661st Military Police Company of the Virgin Islands National Guard; he has served in tours of duty to Kuwait and Afghanistan.

Stedmann’s Public service started as a Legislative Aide for the Honorable Senator Arturo Watlington, Jr.,19th Legislature of the Virgin Islands and as an Elected Delegate to the Fifth Constitutional Convention. He serves as Sergeant of Arms and Chairman of the Committee on Economic Development, Labor, Technology & Energy. His Government experience began with the Department of Labor as Compliance Officer, Labor Relations Division and held the job title of Career & Re-employment Specialist in the Job Service Division; Most recently, Stedmann was employed as the Labor Relations Coordinator with the Schneider Regional Medical Center. Stedmann’s leadership transcended the territory. He was elected President of the Virgin Islands Association and later elected President for the Pre-Alumni Association and Parliamentarian for the Student Government Association while in college.

Community Service

Stedmann Hodge, Jr. is Keeper of Records & Seals for Zeta Xi Chapter, Omega Psi Phi Fraternity Inc. He has served as President of the Inter-Scholastic Athletic Association 2001-2002, St. Thomas/St. John District, received the Managers Award from the Elrod Hendricks Little League West 1990, adopted the fifth grade class at Ulla F. Muller Elementary School 2008, Ms. Sheena Ritter, Instructor. His volunteer work includes Social Action with the Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Umpire – Elrod Hendricks Little League West and Alvin McBean Little League East, Annual H.S. Turkey Bowl – Interscholastic Athletic Association. Stedmann’s largest contribution to Community Service to date has been with the National Association of Mental Illness (NAMI) where he has served as President and is currently a Board Member.

Stedmann is an HR and Labor Relations Expert that always provides labor and employment guidance thru Labor Matters radio show and training and development services. Stedmann is a father, entrepreneur, athlete, public servant and leader that is proud to say that his life experiences, both good and bad, has given him direction, understanding and sensitivity to the needs of all residents of the Virgin Islands. I wish my father could have been here to share in this historic occasion, but realize that he is present in spirit. I thank God, my family, friends and supporters for having the confidence in allowing me to serve the people of the United states Virgin Islands.
