and is the founder and still Master Sensei of King Cobra Tae
Kwon Do of St. Croix, U.S.V.I. Senator Nelson brands himself
as an agent for “positive change” as is expressed in his
motto “Positive Is How I Live”. His attitude and behavior
is compassionate and sensitive to the needs of the entire
community. His daily reminder to everyone is to, “Choose
the positive in any situation encountered; Remember God is
real, God is Love and Keep peace in your heart.
Senator
Nelson states, “My reason for being involved in the
political process is to enhance the quality of life by
increasing the efficiency of public services. Government’s
primary responsibility is to provide the infrastructure and
services to enable public, private, corporate, and
individual citizens to exist comfortably in a society. The
Glory belongs to God.”
Senator
Nelson is married to Kimberly Roper Nelson for 13 years and
is the father of four beautiful children; Terrence Jr.,
Tafari, Tywreh, and Keturah Nelson. His Caribbean roots
stem from St. Kitts, West Indies, but his parents and
grandparents have lived in the Virgin Islands prior to 1960.
Senator
Nelson continues to express humility and honor to be the
first Rastafarian chosen by the people of St. Croix to be
one of your representatives and even more gratitude to
receive a record setting number of votes in the 2006 General
Elections. “I am extremely honored by the love and
appreciation shown by the people of St. Croix and the other
Virgin Islands in the quality of leadership offered by me.
I welcome your constructive criticism and encouragement. I
am not perfect but I am honest, hardworking, and courageous.
Your vote of trust and confidence is respected and valued.
I intend to make you proud of this choice. I am your
public servant. Again, thanks to all who assisted and may
God continue to bless the World, the Virgin Islands, and
this “Positive” movement. May Peace be with us.”
