Senator Celestino A. White, Sr. is the son of the late Charles A. White, a retired Police Officer, and Majorie Stevens, a retired first-class cook.  He graduated from Charlotte Amalie High School in 1965.  Upon graduation, White enlisted in the United States Air Force and later was honorably discharged.  The Vietnam Veteran and Airman First Class returned to St. Thomas in 1969 and entered the Police Force.

During the course of his 20 year law enforcement career, White served in all uniform ranks to include that of Police Chief.  He received numerous departmental and community medals, awards and certificates for exemplary service.  His departmental training included studies at the University of the Virgin Islands, University of North Florida, North Western University, Atlanta University and the U.S. Secret Service.

Senator White was first elected to serve in the 18th Legislature and again in the 19th, 20th, 21st, 22nd, 24th, 25th, 26th, and 27th Legislature.   He has held various leadership positions to include that of the Majority Leader and the Chairman of the Committee on Housing, Sports and Veterans Affairs.  Senator White is presently the senior sitting Senator in the Legislature of the Virgin Islands.

Senator White is admired for his unwavering support of those “bread and butter” issues which improve the quality of life for all residents; to include homeownership/ affordable housing, potable water expansion and fair treatment of public and private sector employees.  Senator White holds a “Masters Degree in Common Sense and a PHD in Street Sense from the School of Hard Knocks”.  “He doesn’t just talk sense.  He applies sense!”

Senator White is married to the former Ruthlyn V. Archibald and is the father of four children: Colette, Celestino Jr., Clement and Calvert and grandfather of seven:  Ashur Amaro, Celestino, Celeste, Asia, Zion, Calaen, and Trinity Devine White.
